In early January we had some of the best nordic skiing conditions we have had in years. Naturally my Turas ski was dusted off and taken out to Loch Morlich near Aviemore where a lot of the snow had settled, knee deep in places! I primarily designed the Turas ski to be an edged nordic backcountry ski with a kick skin that would work in almost any condition and be fun! I want to be able to do little jumps and turns when walking the dog along snowy tracks and this is the ski for the job. I guess it fits into the interesting new ski category called XCD or cross county downhill! It has become a bit of a tradition to head into the woods at first snow and make a pine needle tea from the Scots pine and this video is this seasons instalment. A lovely intro to the Scottish ski season!
